UAC applications
Keep reading if you’re a domestic students who completed high school in New South Wales and are applying for a La Trobe course through the University Admissions Centre (UAC).
If you’re a current year 12 student
You’ll usually lodge an application via UAC. Your application will then be assessed based on your year 12 results when they’re released.
If you’re not a year 12 student
If you’re not a year 12 student you may still apply through the UAC system however you may be selected for your course based on your TAFE or prior university results. If you haven’t studied before, you may need to complete the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) through UAC or apply through our Work Recognition Program or Entry schemes.

Check your course entry requirements
Once you’ve found the course you want to study, check the course prerequisites and other selection requirements sections for your course. If you don’t meet all the requirements, browse our Pathways and entry schemes to find an option that’s best to you.

Once you've decided on your courses, apply through UAC (University Admissions Centre).

Get your ATAR and consider your preferences
If you’re a current year 12 student you’ll receive your ATAR in December, at this point, you may choose to change your preferences should you wish.
All applicants can change course preferences prior to the commencement of each offer round. For further information check the relevant key dates on the UAC website.

Receive your offer
Offers are released through a number of offer rounds. You will be made an offer based on your preferences, your ATAR and how well you met any other course requirements. View further information on the UAC website.

Accept and enrol
Tips for completing your application
- The UAC application system allows you to apply for courses at multiple universities within one application.
- You’ll create a list of ‘preferences’ from the course/s you wish to apply for.
- You will have the opportunity to revise your preferences throughout the selection period.
- You can apply for scholarships, special entry schemes and complete some course-specific selection requirements within the UAC system.
