Achieve Plus
Achieve Plus is La Trobe’s Higher Education in VCE program. Achieve Plus studies are accredited by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) as a formal offering within the VCE that can be taken as a fifth or sixth study, and that can contribute an ATAR increment
Why study with Achieve Plus at La Trobe?
Your ATAR is one way to get into university – and to measure your achievement. But La Trobe’s research shows there are other ways to predict your success. We know that the best way to demonstrate you’ll succeed at uni is to include university study in your VCE. Our Achieve Plus program gives you that option.
We’ll use your Achieve Plus study grade to calculate a La Trobe Entrance Score and your ATAR and use whichever is higher to assess your application.
- You’ll get credit for Achieve Plus subjects when you start an eligible degree at La Trobe – so you’ll start a step ahead and reduce your HECS HELP debt
- You can nominate a course for an Aspire ATAR and receive an early conditional offer for that course.
- It’s 100% online, so you’ll find it easier to balance your uni and Year 12 subjects
What will it cost?
Achieve Plus is completely free for eligible Australian Citizens and permanent residents studying scored VCE.
Am I eligible?
Achieve Plus is available to scored VCE students who:
- Are Australian citizens or permanent residents
- Have enrolled in at least 4 VCE unit 3/4 subjects (one must be English or EAL)
- Have at least one 3/4 VCE enrolment during the year you undertake Achieve Plus
- Are eligible to be awarded the VCE and have demonstrated high achieving results (B/70% pass average)
- Have a current Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Applicants must also provide an Endorsement form [DOCX 147.2 KB] from their school.
Applications close on 28 November 2025
What courses can I access with my La Trobe Entrance Score and Aspire ATAR?
You’ll be eligible to use your Aspire ATAR or La Trobe Entrance Score when you apply for future study at La Trobe (of course, you’ll also need to meet any other requirements for entry such as prerequisites or additional entry criteria, for example completion of the CASPer test for teaching courses), excluding:
- Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours), (Regional Entry), Bendigo
- Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours), Bendigo
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Medical), Bendigo
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Medical), Albury-Wodonga
If your Achieve Plus subjects are part of a bachelor course that you go on to enrol in, you’ll also get credit for the subject(s) once you enrol – saving you HECS and giving you a head start.
What subjects can I study?
Choose a subject pair. You’ll need to have the prerequisites or corequisites listed to boost your ATAR and be registered with VCAA.
