Nursing workforce study

If you are working as an Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse/ Midwife or Nurse Practitioner, we want to hear from you about your experiences.

Communities across Australia face critical health workforce shortages, including among nurses.

Demand for nurses surpasses supply. This shortfall is further impacted by an ageing nursing workforce and nurses, notably early career nurses, leaving the profession.*

La Trobe Rural Health School is conducting an Australia-wide study to identify the factors influencing nurses’ decision to leave or stay working in the profession.

Thank you for contributing to this research, which will be used to inform mitigation strategies to improve nurse retention.

The improved recruitment and retention of nurses, in turn, will contribute to the ongoing delivery and accessibility to health services across Australia.

Participants are encouraged to read the below Participant Information and Consent Statement prior to commencing the survey.
