Coles Group Industry Hackathon

Coles Group has a challenge – do you have the solution?

Delivered in partnership with Coles Group, during a two-day hackathon you will learn and apply foundational entrepreneurial thinking and skills to a business challenge set by the leading Australian retailer. Working in teams, you will prototype solutions and have the chance to pitch your best idea to an expert judging panel.

Why apply?

The Coles Group Industry Hackathon is the perfect opportunity to learn from and network with experienced industry professionals and like-minded students in a fun, supportive and collaborative environment.

The event is intended to increase your employability skills, entrepreneurial mindset and put learnings into practice. While student attendees do not receive academic credit, they will receive recognition toward their Career Ready Advantage Award.

You will learn to:

  • Develop and prototype solutions to a real-world industry challenge
  • Apply entrepreneurial thinking toward your career or your own startup idea
  • Apply an entrepreneurial angle to your CV and job interviews
  • Enhance your professional network
  • Utilise best practice pitching and public speaking techniques.

Free, two-day in-person event from 10am to 4pm at the La Trobe City Campus (Day 1) and Coles HQ (Day 2).

Arrival by 9.45am, doors will be locked due to OHS inductions. Hackathon includes pitches by all teams with feedback from the industry judging panel. Please note that some pitches may conclude later than 4pm.

Must be a La Trobe University student from any campus, discipline or level of study, or an alumni (up to 3 years).
