Academics are being challenged with ways to communicate research impact to policy makers so as to demonstrate value for the greater public good. Resources are increasingly constrained, and fast paced environments mean policy makers have many competing priorities.
In this session, hosted by Professor Nick Bisley, Dean of Humanities & Social Sciences at La Trobe University, hear from former Victorian Premier and Chancellor of La Trobe University, the Hon. John Brumby AO, as he explains the opportunities and processes behind translating academic research into public policy. You will learn how to engage with government stakeholders clearly and persuasively, drive policy change through strategic advocacy and equip yourself with the tools and strategies to navigate the policy landscape and create meaningful impact.
