I was worried that I might not be able to juggle my other commitments alongside my studies, with three children of my own. I was worried that university wasn’t a place that I’d fit into. But that hasn’t been the case at all and I’m enjoying being at the Albury-Wodonga Campus.

The La Trobe MBA has been a great experience – starting with an intense role-playing exercise with Mick Malthouse and culminating with a rock climbing expedition to the Arapiles while researching a marketing plan for an outdoor adventure company. The opportunity to undertake postgraduate study in a regional city while working full-time has been a great privilege.

My MBA allowed me to step up from being a good manager to an excellent executive. The skills I learned in strategic management, organisational change and governance have been critical to my career progression. Flexible learning online or at any campus across Victoria made it easy for me to study while still working full-time.

FAQs

Most postgraduate courses offer both full-time and part-time options.

Full-time study allows you to complete the course faster but requires a greater commitment in terms of contact hours and study.

Part-time study reduces the number of contact hours per semester. You have the option to complete your degree at a pace that leaves more time for work or other commitments.

Part-time study is not available to international students due to visa restrictions.

With StudyFlex , you choose how and where you want to study – online or on campus – in a mix that suits you.

La Trobe already offers world-class, industry-designed, on-campus and online learning, but with StudyFlex, you can experience both.

Choose StudyFlex and shape your degree to suit your lifestyle, while creating opportunities to connect with like-minded students, both online and across our campus network.

Visit our La Trobe Online website for more details and to see all available courses.

Evening classes or intensive ‘block learning’ are available in many courses. Block learning is an intensive study format where subjects are taught in condensed timeframes, often over a few days or weeks rather than spread out across a full semester.

This format is available in many postgraduate courses and is designed to offer greater flexibility for students balancing study with work or personal commitments.

Block learning may include:

  • Evening or weekend classes
  • Short, intensive sessions (e.g., 1–2 weeks per subject)
  • Online or hybrid delivery through StudyFlex

Block learning and evening classes are most useful for working professionals, those with family commitments or caring responsibilities, or have limited availability during standard university hours.

Yes, with StudyFlex you can study across multiple campuses.

And if your degree is online, there’s even more flexibility, with StudyFlex subjects allowing you to experience on-campus study at any of the locations these subjects are available.
