Julie Vine graduated from La Trobe University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Behavioural Science. She recalls making ‘endless photocopying’ at five cents a page and having to find all her paper references in microfiche files. But her happiest memory at La Trobe is sitting with her friends in the coffee shops of the Agora, their favourite spot to sit, eat, chat and worry about their assignments.
Julie went on in 1985 to study mental health nursing and was awarded dux and a clinical price in 1988. In the same year, Julie graduated with the highest marks on the final exam in this course in Victoria.
Following further study, Julie attained her Masters of Nursing with Distinction in 2008 and later graduated with a PhD.
Julie now works as a Clinical Psychiatric Nurse Consultant with undergraduate nursing students and individuals who experience a Borderline Personality Disorder.
