PhD Research Scholarship in Health and Wellbeing of LGBTI Populations
Background
This research scholarship, based in the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS), will be awarded to an outstanding candidate who is interested in contributing significant new knowledge toward improving the health and well-being of LGBTI populations.
As a student you will be supervised by Associate Professor Anthony Lyons with an opportunity to develop a project on a topic that extends current knowledge of the health and wellbeing of LGBTI populations. You should have a high level of achievement, including a first class honours degree or equivalent, an interest in the field of LGBTI health and well-being, and some experience in conducting research, particularly involving quantitative data analysis or mixed methods.

- a La Trobe Research Scholarship for three and a half (3.5 years) years, with a value of $27,596.00 per annum, to support your living costs (2019 rate]
- a fee-relief scholarship (LTUFFRS) for four years to undertake a PhD at La Trobe University (international applicants only)

Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- a Masters by research degree in a relevant discipline completed within the last ten years assessed at a La Trobe Masters by research standard of 75 or above; or
- an Honours degree, Masters by coursework or ungraded Masters by research degree completed within the last ten years where you achieved a weighted average mark of 70 or above across any coursework subjects; AND any of the following assessed at a La Trobe Masters by research standard of 75 or above:
- a research thesis of approximately 15,000-20,000 words; or
- the degree includes a written research component comprising at least 3/8 of one year; or
- you are the lead author of a peer-reviewed publication or other research published within the last ten years.
