Nature Advisory Botanical Scholarship
Background
Nature Advisory will award $15,000 to foster the development of field botanists with solid plant identification skills.
Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- Be an Honours year student in the Department of Ecology, Environment and Evolution, majoring in some aspect of ecology, with a project focused on some aspect of a Victorian plant community, that will require the student to develop broad botanical field and identification skills
- Have past completion of a Bachelor's degree that majored in some aspect of ecology.
Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
Selection is competitive, based on the information supplied to the Department Honours Coordinator.
Recipient obligations
- Required to undertake thesis research in the proposed area of botanical studies
- Required to write a brief formal report once per semester on the impact that the scholarship has had and their supervisor will be required to acquit the operational funding component
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress as assessed by their supervisor and Head of Department
