This prestigious scholarship, established by La Trobe University in partnership with a prominent industry partner, will be awarded to outstanding applicants with a strong track record of academic excellence in Materials Science and Engineering, Polymer Engineering or a relevant field.

The successful applicant will be based at our partner’s head office for 5 days per month during normal office hours and the remaining days will be at La Trobe University’s Advanced Polymer and Composites Laboratory at the Bendigo Campus.

The successful applicant will undertake high impact industry-relevant research and development activities in the field of 3D printing, tissue engineering, guided bone tissue regeneration for our industry partner through the Research Group. He/she will focus on the fabrication of a novel bioresorbable membrane and the examination of its properties and effectiveness of the design.

Applicant with strong teamwork skills and a strong research track record, particularly with prior experience undertaking research or development in polymeric membranes and 3D printing technology are strongly encouraged to apply.

Are you eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • not be receiving another scholarship greater than 75 per cent of the stipend rate for the same purpose
  • will be enrolled full-time and undertaking their research at a La Trobe University campus
In selecting successful applicants, we prioritise applications from candidates who:

  • will be available to commence within one month of the offer being made
  • have completed a Masters by Research or other significant body of research, such as an honours research thesis or lead authorship of a peer-reviewed publication, assessed at a La Trobe Masters by research standard of 75 or above
