Help Shape the Future of Family Therapy at The Bouverie Centre

At the Bouverie Centre, we have always been committed to advancing family therapy and systemic practice to strengthen families during tough times. Our work has been enriched by the contributions of passionate professionals and supporters like you.

We are seeking to establish opportunities for donors and alumni to make a lasting impact through scholarships, awards, or named initiatives that support emerging practitioners and innovative research.

These contributions can:

  • Support innovation by enabling projects that address pressing social and mental health challenges.

  • Fund scholarships for students who aspire to become family therapists or family researchers, but face financial barriers.

  • Create awards that enable and recognise excellence in practice and research, or industry engagement

Your generosity will honour the values that have shaped the Bouverie Centre and ensure that future generations of practitioners are equipped to make a difference.

If you are interested in exploring how you can contribute - whether through a one-time gift, an ongoing pledge, or the establishment of a named scholarship or award  - we would love to discuss options with you.

Continue Jeff Lipp’s Legacy – Support Future Family Therapists

Dr. Jeff Lipp was a pioneering psychiatrist and family therapist whose work at the Bouverie Centre (1987–1997) shaped inclusive practice and inspired generations.

The Jeff Lipp Foundation left a bequest to the Bouverie Centre, which has supported internal grants for over a decade. Through those grants, we have seeded critical initiatives that are now making a difference nationally and internationally. This includes developing leading models of in single session family therapy for acute trauma, and First Nations informed healing for non-Indigenous families.

This fund will expire in 2027. We invite our community to step forward and help continue this wonderful legacy. You can make a lasting impact by funding a scholarship, award, or named initiative that supports students and innovation in family therapy.

Your contribution will:

  • Open doors for aspiring practitioners
  • Recognise excellence in systemic practice
  • Drive research and community impact

Join us in continuing the generosity of the Lipp family, and its vision for a more connected, compassionate world.

Refining a Single Session Thinking approach for trauma-affected families

Refining a Single Session Thinking approach for trauma-affected families

This project explored how Single Session Thinking (SST; a brief, strengths-based therapy approach) can be adapted to support families recovering from traumatic experiences.

Using a three-round Delphi study, 16 experienced family therapists identified how SST principles can best be applied in trauma-related family work.
