Hosted by La Trobe's Australian Centre for AI in Medical Innovation (ACAMI), the AI Disrupting the Workplace webinar brought together industry and academic leaders to explore how artificial intelligence is fundamentally reshaping the way we work.

Hosted by La Trobe University’s Australian Centre for AI in Medical Innovation (ACAMI), the AI Disrupting the Workplace webinar offered a compelling exploration of how AI is reshaping industries, redefining workforce dynamics, and driving innovation.

The one-hour session saw leading experts discuss the evolving landscape of AI and its integration into the workplace. Topics ranged from AI literacy and cybersecurity to ethical governance and practical strategies for AI adoption. The webinar also highlighted the importance of continuous learning and upskilling in an AI-driven world.

Speakers:

  • Professor Ian Meredith AM, Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow, Monash University, who shared insights on AI governance from a Board perspective
  • Jakub Zverina, Program Manager, CyberCX, who presented 'The Cyber Frontlines: How AI Is Changing the Rules of Engagement', delving into the dual role of AI as both a defensive tool and a potential enabler for cyber threats
  • Ali Juma, AI Adoption & Engagement Lead,  La Trobe University, who discussed 'AI Adoption: Embracing Change and Continuous Learning', offering practical advice for navigating the challenges and opportunities of AI integration.

The session included a dynamic panel discussion, chaired by Dr Jane Leong, Director (Development), ACAMI. This interactive segment allowed attendees to engage directly with the speakers, fostering a lively exchange of ideas and perspectives.
