Are those mid-semester assessment due dates creeping up? Do you want to improve your grades? The Library’s upcoming Assessment Bootcamp workshops will teach you good study habits and help you complete your assessments.

Join us on Thursday 21 September for a full day of online workshops. You can sign up for just one or attend them all.

What to expect

Each Assessment Bootcamp workshop covers a specific topic such as improving your academic writing, planning and structuring your assignments or effectively managing your time.

You can ask questions and get help with your assessments early in your course.

Workshops available

10.00 am – 11.30 am
Essays and Referencing Hacks
Everything you need to know about essays – from planning and structuring to writing and editing. You’ll also learn various referencing hacks based on your preferred referencing style (APA or Harvard).

11.30 am – 1.00 pm
Report Writing and Referencing Hacks
Avoid losing unnecessary marks on your reports. This workshop will cover the essentials of report writing. You’ll hear tips on structure, style, and avoiding common errors students make. Learn where to find resources and how to properly reference with an experienced Librarian.

2 pm – 3 pm
Using References in your Writing
Not sure how to use references in your writing? In this workshop you will learn methods for incorporating sources into your writing – to support your academic arguments and avoid plagiarism.

3 pm – 4 pm
Getting Back on Track with your Assessments
This workshop will look at strategies to help you get back on track. We'll talk about prioritising tasks, time management and where to go for more support.

6 pm – 7 pm
Search Skills: Databases and Google Scholar Hacks
This workshop introduces databases and provides tips and tricks for using Google Scholar in your research.
