Hear from motivational speaker, Sam Bramham OAM. Sam’s journey is truly inspiring. He is an author, Paralympic gold medallist swimmer and Medal of the Order of Australia recipient. Sam graduated with a degree in Sport Marketing and Law from La Trobe whilst training as an elite athlete for Australia. Through his humour and authenticity, Sam will share powerful life lessons with his story of resilience, goal-setting and building inclusive communities.


Note: Parents and caregivers can also attend with their teen. While students join workshops, parents and caregivers attend an exclusive information session to find out how we’ll support their teen during their transition to university.

Physiotherapy and Podiatry

Movement is essential to our health, happiness and connection to others – physios and podiatrists help us improve mobility and independence. In these workshops explore how we use exercise and movement to improve the lives of athletes, children, adults and people recovering from surgery, injury or illness.

Allied Health Stream 2

Health Sciences and Sport and Exercise Science

Help people reach their peak performance by exploring the science behind training, the strengths and limitations of the human body, and build strong foundations in physiology, anatomy and biomechanics. Health Sciences examines the way our minds, society, environment and political structures affects the health of individuals, families and communities. These workshops will give you an insight into exploring these study areas.

Arts, Social Sciences and Communication

Arts, Media and Communication

Shape your own future and pursue your passion with 50 majors and minors to choose from. Find out where a Bachelor of Arts could take you in humanities, social sciences, business, health and science, keeping your career options open. Media and Communication can take you to explore the tools and channels used to research, create, distribute and promote content to different audiences. In this workshop you will explore news across different media platforms and the fundamental skills in video and audio studio production in the specialised tv media studio.

Business and Commerce

Business and Commerce

Studying business develops solid foundations in modern business skills and prepares you to thrive in a digitally disrupted world. Through commerce you can gain the transferable and technical skills in more traditional disciplines that you need to succeed in the rapidly evolving world of business. Explore the differences between business and commerce through these workshops.

Education and Teaching

Education Primary and Secondary

Through the Primary teaching major you will gain the skills to guide children aged five to twelve through this important phase. As the bridge between childhood and adult life, secondary teaching offers a unique opportunity to help shape our next generation of leaders. Through both majors you gain an in-depth understanding of child psychology and how primary and secondary students learn. These workshops will explore the differences between teaching primary and secondary.

Information Technology and Engineering

Cybersecurity, AI and Civil Engineering

Our cybersecurity students get the hacking, cybercrime and defence strategies they need for an in-demand career as a cybersecurity expert. This workshop will give you a taster into the rapidly evolving digital world of cybersecurity. Civil engineering builds your knowledge in a range of engineering specialities including geotechnics and hydraulic systems. This workshop will take you behind the scenes into the engineering lab.

Law and Criminology

Law and Criminology

Criminology explores crime and how our responses are shaped by gender, race, power and money. In these workshops, students get the opportunity to discover their inner Elle Woods or Harvey Specter as they cross-examine witnesses in a mock criminal trial.

Nursing and Paramedicine

Nursing and Midwifery and Paramedicine

Our clinical learning environments mimic real health care settings. Here, students learn the practice-based skills and get hands-on practice with equipment before they go out onto placement. This is your chance to see how our high-tech manikins operate through real-life simulated practice scenarios in the learning labs.

Science Stream 1

Anatomy and Chemistry

Explore our chemistry lab, with insights into the very building blocks of nature. The anatomy workshop will take you on a tour of the human body this will give you an insight into practical classes that prepare students for their futures in the health care industry.

Science Stream 2

Physics and Microbiology

This workshop gives you a taster to explore our major in physics, unlocking the secrets of the small and invisible. During the microbiology workshop you will be immersed in an identification experiment on a cellular level using microscopes and other state of the art equipment in the lab.

Sport

Sport Recreation Management and Careers in Sport 

Find out how you can turn your passion for sport into a career while exploring our Sports Park. Though these workshops see a different side of sport where you can explore leadership, planning and administrative components of the sports industry.

Psychology and Social Work
