La Trobe Academy
We recognise the key role that our learning and teaching staff play in delivering globally recognised education to our diverse student body.
Through the La Trobe Academy, will support our staff to lead the infusion of scholarship and innovation in learning and teaching across the wider university community through mentoring, collaboration and knowledge sharing
To support this vision, we commenced an institutional ‘Access’ partner agreement with Advance Higher Education (AHE) in 2019. AHE is an independent not-for-profit organisation in the UK which champions learning and teaching across the international higher education sector. AHE developed the internationally-endorsed Professional Standards Framework (PSF) to benchmark teaching excellence.
HEA Fellowships are recognised as a badge of teaching excellence and are a transportable credential between institutions across the world.
Fellowships are offered at four levels, according to the appropriate level of experience in teaching or learning support. There are currently over 116,000 HEA Fellows worldwide, with approximately 2,500 of these from Australia.
HEA Fellowships are applicable for a diverse range of academic and professional staff with different levels of experience – from early career teachers to those who can demonstrate deep, strategic learning and teaching impact within the institutional, national or international context. The support and resources for HEA Fellowships application also accessible to our sessional teaching staff or those that support learning in non-teaching roles.
