Nexus is a first-of-its-kind employment-based pathway into secondary teaching. That means you’ll get the knowledge, support and experience you need to jump straight into your career as a secondary teacher.
The program is designed to not only give you a taste of what it’s like to be a teacher in hard-to-staff schools, but get you confident working as a teacher with economically and culturally diverse students before you graduate from your Master of Teaching (Secondary). With flexible online study and access to schools in metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria, you’ll learn the theory while building hands-on skills in real education environments.
If you have a passion for social justice and prior knowledge or experience in a specialised area, the Nexus program can help you combine your interests to build a meaningful career. Also, you don’t have to worry about missing out on work while you study. As a Nexus student, you’ll receive a 0.8 full-time equivalent teacher’s aide salary for your work in the classroom.
