Pride in our Work

National residential aged care staff survey

Helping shape better LGBTIQA+ inclusive practice in residential aged care.

2025-2026

The Pride in our Work survey has now closed for responses. Please check back here, or subscribe to our mailing list, for results and additional publications.

About the project

As part of the broader Rainbow Inclusive Aged Care Project, headed by Professor Mark Hughes at Southern Cross University, ARCSHS will undertake a survery of residential aged care workers, volunteers and people visiting residential aged care facilities in a professional capacity.

The Rainbow Inclusive Aged Care Project aims to improve care for gender and sexually diverse people in residential aged care.

The national Pride In Our Work survey is a key initial step in the project, identifying what enables and constrains inclusive care. The results of the survey will form a critical portion of the evidence base to enable co-creation, co-design and co-research methods with LGBTQ+ people for improving inclusivity in residential aged care.

Gift card draw

After the completion of their survey, participants had the option to supply contact information for a draw for one of four $100 gift cards.

This information was not linked to survey responses, and will be securely stored until the completion of the prize draw and notification process, then deleted.

This draw has now been completed, and winners have been notified by email. If winners do not respond within 1 week, reminder emails will be sent. If winners do not respond within 1 calendar month, replacement winners will be re-drawn and the notification process will restart. Please check your spam emails.
