Funded by the Australian Government, Dementia Training Australia (DTA) provides dementia education and training to the health and aged care workforce across Australia.

Established in 2016, DTA is a consortium led by the University of Wollongong and comprising:

  • Dementia Australia
  • La Trobe University
  • Queensland University of Technology; and
  • The University of Western Australia

DTA combines the expertise of these consortium members to deliver a coordinated national approach to dementia training for individuals and organisations.

“To improve the care and wellbeing of people living with dementia, and the wellbeing of staff delivering their care, by providing or brokering nationally consistent, high-quality knowledge translation services to aged and health care staff, managers and other professionals”

For organisations wishing to provide training to their staff group DTA offers Tailored Training Programs and consultancy services.

As with everyone in DTA, the La Trobe team are passionate about the care of people living with dementia and supporting their health and aged care staff who provide that care.
