How to apply

Key application dates

Applications open: 3 October 2022

Applications close:

  • Year 12 students: Apply by 5pm on 6 November 2022 for offers in the December offer round (Round 1), or 5pm on 13 December 2022 (Round 2) for offers in the January offer round.
  • Submit your application form

Complete the online Aspire Year 11 conditional entry application form. You can nominate up to three (3) course preferences you'd like to be considered for.

Download the Aspire Year 11 Conditional Entry Program - Course List 2023 [PDF 140kb]

  • Get your Year 11 results

We’ll need to have your Year 11 results to calculate your entrance score for relevant degrees at La Trobe.

Once your school has issued your final Year 11 results, email a copy to the university at study@latrobe.edu.au and make sure you state 'Aspire Year 11 Conditional Entry program' with your full name in the subject line of your email.

  • Complete the School Endorsement form

Once you have received your Year 11 results, you’ll need to download and provide your Year 11 or VCE coordinator with a copy of the School endorsement form. Ask them to complete their section.

Once complete, email a copy to the university at study@latrobe.edu.au and make sure you state 'Aspire Year 11 Conditional Entry program' with your full name in the subject line of your email or check with your school to see if they would prefer to email the school endorsement form.

  • Wait for the offer

Once you’ve submitted your application and all supporting documents, you’ll receive an outcome shortly after application round dates have closed.

To receive an unconditional offer from La Trobe, you must still complete Year 12 and meet any subject prerequisites for your course.

We will formalise your early conditional offer with confirmation of your completed VCE, IB, interstate Year 12 qualification. VCE Year 12 students must have their Aspire course listed as their first eligible course.

VCE Year 12 students must formalise their offer by listing the three (3) nominated courses on their VTAC course preference list.

What courses are available for Year 11 Early Entry Program?

When the Aspire Year 11 Conditional Entry program launches, you can apply for an early conditional offer to undergraduate courses [PDF 140kb].

We’ll hold your spot – it’s guaranteed as long as you meet the entry requirements (as outlined in the who can apply section above) – and formalise your early conditional offer once we receive confirmation of your completed VCE, IB, interstate Year 12 qualification.

FAQ

An early conditional offer is an offer to say you have a place reserved for you in the course you’ve applied for, but you will still need to meet any entry requirements that are outlined in your offer.

You can apply for all Aspire programs you’re eligible for, so you'll increase your chances of getting more than one early conditional offer into your dream course.

However, there are different requirements for each program, so make sure you check that you meet all requirements.

Course caps will only apply to a very small percentage of courses that have limited places.

You can still apply to study at La Trobe via the normal VTAC course application process.

Alternatively, you can apply for any of the other Aspire programs, provided you can meet their eligibility requirements.

Unless otherwise specified and depending on when you apply, you will receive an early conditional offer two weeks* after you submit your completed application (including your Year 11 results and completed School Endorsement Form).

You will receive an unconditional offer from La Trobe once your Year 12 results are confirmed.

* this is an estimate and may be longer during peak application periods.

You can nominate up to three course preferences. You will receive an offer for the highest preference for which you are eligible.

It is a requirement that all students studying their Year 12 in Victoria must apply through VTAC for university entry.

Yes, you can submit your application form when you’re in Year 11. We understand your results won't be available until after your exams, so you can email them through via study@latrobe.edu.au when they are ready.

In the meantime, you can get started on your application to avoid any delays. Check out our ‘How to apply’ steps for more information.
