The teams of the Graduate Research School

Researchers interacting with staffThe Graduate Research School (GRS) comprises four specialist teams that are dedicated to the different stages and requirements of the graduate researcher journey.

Operations team

The Operations Team is dedicated to the smooth and timely processing of applications for candidature and scholarships, as well as enrolment and variation to candidature such as changes study to load, leave of absence, and extension of candidature. This team also coordinates the examinations process, from the Notice of Intention to Submit through to conferral of awards by Academic Board.

College Liaison team

The College Liaison Team provides front-line support and advice to graduate research supervisors, coordinators and candidates. As the first point of contact, they liaise between all Graduate Research School and academic staff. The College Liaison Team also coordinates key academic activities such as supervisor registration and variation, and progress management.

Research Education and Development (RED) team

The Graduate Research School's Research Education and Development (RED) team supports and assists La Trobe graduate researchers and academic staff in:

  • establishing quality research practices
  • developing strategies for success in research publication and funding
  • gaining insight into researcher career paths and industry sectors
  • and practising excellent research communication skills.

The RED team is dedicated to providing a diverse, responsive, and forward-looking program.

Strategic support

We also have staff working in governance and policy, communications and performance analysis, and supporting our international and industry engagement activities, such as mentoring, internships and the La Trobe PhD with an industry focus.
