International Fellowship Scheme

We have a range of doctoral programs with global partners, that provide unique opportunities to work with world-class researchers, across multiple countries, from diverse institutional contexts. Graduates develop advanced research skills and training, and have the opportunity to also expand their inter-cultural communication and networks.

GLOBAL GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Joint PhDs

Candidates are enrolled at both La Trobe University and the partner institution, they have supervisors from both institutions, spend time at both universities, and graduate with a PhD awarded jointly by both institutions.

There are five partner institutions available with joint PhD arrangements:

  • IIT Kanpur (India)
  • BITS Pilani (India)
  • Tata Institute of Social Sciences (India)
  • Sheffield Hallam University (UK)
  • University of Bayreuth (Germany)

Collaborative PhDs

Candidates are enrolled at La Trobe University only but undertake research predominantly while based at the partner institution and graduate with a PhD awarded by La Trobe University only.

There are five partner institutions available under collaborative PhD arrangements:

  • JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (India)
  • Ateneo de Manilla University (Philippines)
  • European XFEL (Germany)
  • Zhejiang University (China)
  • Zhejiang A&F University (China)
