Dr Kylie McIntyre is a leading rural health researcher with expertise in rural health and wellbeing, psychological and occupational trauma, military and first responder health, and the relationships between participation and health. She is a member of the Australasian Military Medicine Association, the Australasian College of Paramedicine, and the Mental Health Practitioners Network, and she serves as Research Integrity Advisor for the La Trobe Rural Health School.
Dr McIntyre is also Co-Chair of the Australasian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ASTSS) Allied Health Special Interest Group, providing leadership in research governance, ethical practice, and allied health engagement in traumatic stress. Through her research and involvement in the occupational therapy program at the La Trobe Rural Health School, she has collaborated widely with government, health services, industry and community organisations to co-design, implement and translate projects that enhance rural health outcomes.
As Deputy Director, Dr McIntyre looks forward to advancing collaborative, community-driven research that builds capacity, informs policy, and improves the health and wellbeing of rural and regional communities.
Oral Health Stream
We’re pleased to announce Professor Santosh Kumar Tadakamadla as the new Rural Oral Health Stream Lead for the Violet Vines Marshman Centre for Rural Health Research, La Trobe Rural Health School.
Professor Tadakamadla is a Professor of Dentistry and Oral Health and a dental public health specialist whose work focuses on reducing health inequalities and improving population oral health outcomes. His research leadership, recognised through prestigious national and international awards, will strengthen the Centre’s work to advance oral health equity and impact for rural and regional communities.
We look forward to Professor Tadakamadla’s leadership of the Oral Health Stream and the contribution this will make to rural health research, policy and practice.
