In response to Tuesday’s Victorian Government announcement regarding the return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions for all Melbourne metropolitan areas, La Trobe Sport will again be ceasing all sport and active recreation on campus until further notice.

This decision is effective from close of operating hours tonight (Wednesday July 8 2020). This includes all activities (apart from teaching or research activities) that involve the use of the following facilities on the Bundoora campus:

  • La Trobe Sports Stadium
  • La Trobe Sports Centre
  • La Trobe Sports Park Fields

This cessation of activity affects the following users:

  • All La Trobe University sport clubs and university sport-related activity using any La Trobe University campus facility for training or competition
  • External hirers and regular user groups using La Trobe Sports Park facilities
  • Sports Centre members and users of the gym, fitness studios, pool or courts
  • External booking holders for birthday parties, school groups, swim school, school holiday programs or other ad-hoc facility bookings for July and August

Each user group will be contacted directly by La Trobe Sport staff to provide further details.

La Trobe Sport, in conjunction with the University, will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks and will provide updates on the staged reopening of our facilities as per Victorian Government guidelines. Stay tuned to the La Trobe Sport website and La Trobe Sport Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
