La Trobe University is harnessing Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition research and technology expertise to reduce carbon emissions as part of Net Zero project. Our team of researchers and students are designing and implementing the La Trobe Energy Analytics Platform (LEAP) - an energy analysis platform that monitors consumption patterns and performance of up to 50 buildings. The platform will create actionable insights to reduce our energy consumption across La Trobe campuses by making lighting, heating and cooling adjustments in real time.
The project was officially launched on 20 August 2019 by the University Vice-Chancellor John Dewar and Honorary Chancellor John Brumby.
