Description
A major backlog maintenance item being addressed to make the building waterproof and improve student experience.
Overview
The replacement of the 60 year old Library copper roof, guttering and downpipes to allow the building to be watertight and able to cope with a large downpour.
Project Status
Project was completed in May 2018
Benefits
Stopping the roof leaks, improve thermal comfort, improve safety by installing handrails and improving the roof strength to futureproof and allow for a solar array to be installed.
This also allows the opportunity to review the library collection when Level 3 is closed for the works and review the function of Level 3 once the books are condensed and relocated.
Design Features
New roofing, guttering and downpipes designed to today's standards and able to cope with a 1 in 100 year storm.
