La Trobe University English Language Proficiency Measures – country specific results, previous study in English and approved ELICOS programs

La Trobe recognises the English language proficiency demonstrated as resulting from measures other than internationally recognised test scores or the ELICOS and Foundation programs delivered by La Trobe Melbourne (LTM).

Please note:

  • Applicants are still required to meet the academic entry requirements for each course
  • Some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency and these are published on the website, so check your course for details
  • IELTS (General) is not accepted for admission into La Trobe university programs
  • Where you have achieved more than one form of English language proficiency, only the most recent single achievement will be considered in the admission decision
  • Applicants must have satisfied these requirements within the last two years before first enrolling at La Trobe
  • If you complete secondary studies in one of the European countries listed below and achieve the grade required within the last five years before first enrolling at La Trobe, you might not be asked to meet the English requirement. English as the language of instruction at tertiary level for at least one year full time studies (60 ECTS) within the last two years is also acceptable
