Cycling Amenities

La Trobe University has facilities to support cycling to and from campus.

All of our campuses feature bicycle storage, showers, and change facilities for cyclists. Two of our campuses also offer more secure CycleSmart Centres, which provide more secure parking than regular bike hoops through swipe card access. These facilities also include shower and change areas.

Staff and students can request swipe card access to secure bike facilities online using the Secure Bike End-of-Trip Facilities Access Form. Please allow up to 24 hours for processing.

See the Melbourne Campus Cycling Amenities Map for a full list of cycling amenities and locations.

La Trobe acknowledges the right of all users to access safe cycling facilities that are free from violence and discrimination.

Most of our shower and change facilities are all-gender. This means they are single-occupant stalls that can be used by one person at a time, regardless of what gender they are.

Some of our older facilities are separated by binary gender (male/men and female/women). They may include shared shower or change facilities, where multiple individuals share an open shower and change area.

In accordance with the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act and the Sex Discrimination Act, La Trobe supports all people to use the facilities that best reflect their gender.

Violence or discrimination based on gender, intersex status, appearance, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated. All users must comply with relevant La Trobe policies, include but not limited to:
