Scholarships

Students at Sydney Campus can receive scholarships that recognise academic performance, courses studies in La Trobe's areas of excellence, early acceptance and enrolment, and previous relationships with the campus.

La Trobe University values academic excellence. High achieving International students thinking about applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate course will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

The La Trobe High Achiever Scholarship rewards high achieving International students. This scholarship is worth between 15% to 25% off the annual tuition fees for the duration of studies.

*WAM is an average mark that takes into account the credit point value of the subjects that you have completed. It is based on the actual mark of all subjects completed in your course at any given time.

Recipient obligations

Maintain a full-time enrolment in one of the La Trobe University campuses in Australia and satisfactory academic progress during the studies.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand and be applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
  • Be a new International student applying for 2024-2026 intakes.
  • Be a full fee-paying student (Non-sponsored).
  • Apply to a program in the List of eligible courses.
  • Not available to humanitarian or other permanent visa holders.

How to Apply

Applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship after submitting an application for an Approved course.

Percentage awarded is based on the WAM and overall eligibility of the course. The scholarship will be included in the Letter of Offer.

The scholarship will be reflected on the student's statement of account after the census-date once the student has accepted the offer, paid the required deposit mentioned on the offer letter and enrolled into their course.

How is it Paid?

This scholarship will be applied as a discount to tuition fees for each subject studied for the entire duration of the course, applied from the second semester of study. Recipients are required to meet all conditions (if applicable) outlined in the Letter of Offer and accept the offer by paying the required deposit before the scholarship can be applied. Please note: Failure to meet condition(s) and pay the acceptance deposit on time may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.

International students meeting all offer conditions and accepting their offer before the  deadline will be awarded an Early Acceptance Grant in addition to any other scholarship they may be eligible for.

Family Bursary

If you have an immediate family member who is a current or former student of a participating Navitas institution, you may be eligible for a 10% discount on your tuition fee for up to 8 units of study within one program. The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken and excludes mixed English options. Students can request an application form when applying to study at the Sydney Campus or visit Reception once on campus.

Scholarship places are limited and awarded to students in order of offer acceptance

  1. Meet all applicable conditions outlined in your course Letter of Offer.
  2. Accept your offer by paying the acceptance deposit listed on your Letter of Offer for your principal course and return your completed Offer Acceptance Form.
  3. You must commence your course at La Trobe University Sydney by the date listed on your Letter of Offer to secure your scholarship.
