J.H. Sawyer Diploma to Degree Scholarship
Background
The Diploma to Degree Scholarship Program, generously established by James Sawyer, has been created to strengthen educational pathways and support local students transitioning from vocational to higher education. The program provides dedicated financial assistance to students who complete a diploma in Early Childhood Learning, Community Services, or Nursing at Wodonga Institute of TAFE and progress to a related bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or Nursing offered or supported at the La Trobe University Albury-Wodonga Campus.
By creating a clear and supported pathway from diploma to degree, the program aims to build workforce capacity in key community sectors across the region and deliver long-term benefits to the Albury–Wodonga community.
Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Have completed a diploma in Early Childhood Learning, Community Services, or Nursing at Wodonga Institute of TAFE
- Be enrolled in one of the following:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Online)
- Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (Albury-Wodonga)
- Bachelor of Nursing (Albury-Wodonga)
Please note: La Trobe University will review enrolments and applicants annually and may adjust awards distributed across degrees based on demand, changes to course profiles at Wodonga Institute of TAFE and La Trobe University and students demonstrating outstanding performance and commitment.
Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
- submission of the application form that includes the names of two referees from Wodonga Institute of TAFE
