Welcome to the J.H. Sawyer Diploma to Degree Scholarship application. This scholarship supports students transitioning from a completed diploma at Wodonga Institute of TAFE into an eligible bachelor degree at La Trobe University's Albury‑Wodonga Campus or online.Please provide the name and if you have them, contact details of two referees from Wodonga Institute of TAFE who can comment on your performance, attendance, and readiness for degree‑level study. Your referees should be teachers or staff who know your work well.

  • Who can be my referee?
    Any TAFE teacher or staff member who taught or supported you during your diploma.
  • Do I need to ask them first?
    Yes. Please let your referees know before listing them, so they're aware we may contact them.
  • What will my referees be asked?
    We may ask them about your attendance, engagement, work quality and readiness for degree‑level study.
  • Will you call or email them?
    We may contact them by phone or email.
  • Do referees need to write a letter?
    No. We will contact them directly if needed.
  • What if my teacher has left?
    You may list another staff member who knows your work, such as a coordinator or another teacher from your course.
