Health networks

The ARCH benefits from La Trobe University’s status as an Affiliate Member of the Melbourne Academic Centre for Health (MACH). One of nine NHMRC-accredited research translation centres across Australia, MACH takes the most targeted, evidence-based research findings and turns them into standard healthcare practice. La Trobe joins over 20 hospitals and medical research institutes in the partnership, providing representation on subcommittees, as well as offering workshops for clinicians and researchers in areas of mutual need.

La Trobe University is also an affiliate member of Monash Partners, an innovative partnership bringing together some of Melbourne’s leading health professionals, academics and researchers to support the health and wellbeing of around 3.5 million Victorians. Established in 2011, members include leading health services, teaching and research organisations.

La Trobe is a member of the A+ Alfred Research Alliance, which brings together eight independent and diverse organisations to create a community of excellence in medical research and education. The Alliance shares a commitment to furthering knowledge and translating research into new and improved diagnoses, treatments and public health strategies. Each organisation contributes distinct skills, expertise and perspectives to create a vibrant research environment, while encouraging the sharing of skills, technology and know-how.

The ARCH is also collaborating with the Western Alliance, which is the first Australian academic health science centre to focus on regional and rural/remote health outcomes. The vision is a healthier regional Australia and its mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of western Victorians through collaborative health and medical research, education and training.
