While La Trobe Sport’s facilities at the Bundoora campus (La Trobe Sports Stadium and La Trobe Sports Centre) do not fall within the Victorian Government’s list of postcodes required to go back to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions from Thursday 2nd July, the proximity of our facilities to these postcodes has forced La Trobe Sport to re-evaluate our processes and rules to ensure the safety of our members and customers.
Whether you are a member of our Sports Centre, a general user of our facilities or a participant in one of our sport clubs on campus, we all have a role to play to ensure we are containing the spread of COVID-19. To do this, we are asking our La Trobe Sport community members to abide by the following:
- If you currently reside in one of the postcodes announced by the Victorian Government on Tuesday 30th June as part of the return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions, we are asking that you please refrain from attending our facilities while these restrictions remain in place (until 29th July). This includes all facilities located within the La Trobe Sports Park (fields and Sports Stadium) and the La Trobe Sports Centre (gym, pool, specialty studios etc.).
- If you live in one of these restricted postcodes announced on the 30th June and wish to exercise, you can do so outside within your local area and with only one other person or members of your household. This applies even if you leave a restricted postcode to exercise.
- Personal training outdoors can occur within your local area, but with a limit of two participants plus the instructor
- Should you wish to train from home, you can do so via La Trobe Sport’s online group fitness classes or by following one of our Activation In Isolation workouts.
In conjunction with the University, La Trobe Sport will continue to monitor any changes and announcements to COVID-19 restrictions and will endeavour to keep our members, customers, affiliated clubs and community user groups informed with the latest updates.
For more information on the measures we have put in place to ensure the health and safety of our community, please consult our updated ‘Return to Sport and Recreation Guidelines’ and FAQs.
