Terms & Conditions
La Trobe considers you an international student if you are:
- A citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Are not a humanitarian or other permanent visa holder.
- A temporary visa holder.
- This scholarship will be applied as a deduction of fees from the first semester of study at La Trobe University and will be applied against your tuition fees owing at the time of the Offer.
- This scholarship is for full-time studies.
- This scholarship is only offered to full fee paying and non-sponsored international students studying at one of our Victorian campuses in Australia.
- This scholarship will cover the tuition fee reduction percentage specified in your Letter of Offer for the full duration of your course, up to the standard course length stated in the letter. It will not apply to any extended study period resulting from a reduced study load, leave of absence, or unsatisfactory academic performance. Any tuition fees incurred beyond the standard course duration must be paid by the student.
- This scholarship will not be valid if you defer the commencement of your course to a study period later than the period of commencement detailed in your letter of offer.
- This scholarship is non-refundable to the student. If your enrolment is cancelled or you withdraw or otherwise terminate your enrolment, the scholarship funds will be returned to the University.
- This scholarship is non-transferable to another course.
- New commencing students to La Trobe University are eligible to receive only one coursework scholarship. In the instance where you have been offered more than one scholarship, the scholarship of greater value will be applied automatically. If you would like to accept a scholarship that is of a lower financial value than the Scholarship described herein, please contact Ask La Trobe.
- New commencing students to La Trobe University may be eligible for other top-up grants, bursaries, or fee discounts.
- If you do not commence your course, discontinue your enrolment, or your enrolment is withdrawn by the University, or you do not continue to be eligible for the scholarship offered, the scholarship will be withdrawn or stopped by the
University. Any scholarship applied for studies completed does not need to be paid back by the student. - This scholarship will not apply to tuition fees of any subject you withdraw from after the census date. If you choose to withdraw from a subject after the census date, you will be liable to pay the full tuition fees for that subject.
- You will not be required to repay the University the value of all scholarship discounts if you withdraw from your course in opting for an 'Alternative exit' (refers to exiting your course at an earlier stage by completing a different award to the one you were originally enrolled in), provided such award and exit has been approved by the University under its policies.
- Once you have exited your current program as per conditions 11 and 12 above, you will no longer be able to retain any unused scholarship/bursary/grant components for any future commencements.
- The above terms and conditions may be updated during the period of your study. In such a situation, you will be notified via your La Trobe email of any changes.
- By accepting this scholarship, you agree to be involved in marketing and recruitment activities during your time as a student at La Trobe University.
Accepting and Securing a Scholarship
- Accept your offer by paying the full acceptance deposit listed on your Letter of Offer and return your completed Offer Acceptance Form for International Students to La Trobe International.
- You must commence your course at La Trobe University by the date listed on your Letter of Offer to secure your scholarship.
