Office for Sustainability
We believe that the development of sustainability thinking at La Trobe will give our community the skills they need to tackle the multitude of challenges we face as a result of climate change, inequitable resources use and environmental degradation.
The Office for Sustainability works with students, staff and our community in order to make sustainability central to everything we do. A change will come through the introduction of new policies, the creation of new practices, the increased awareness and education of our community, the development of new leadership and strengthening of a socially responsible culture.
We will develop responsible leaders, professionals and citizens by:
- Recognising that sustainability encompasses economic, social and environmental dimensions.
- Integrating sustainability across all operations, curriculum and research.
- Embedding sustainability in the culture and practices of the University through the broadest engagement with staff, students, employers and partners in the community and in government.
- Becoming known as the leading sustainable university in Australia and a leader internationally.
