RED-discussion-group-web-250-x-166pxThe Research Education and Development (RED) Unit collaborates with communities of scholars and University services to provide research education and development that promotes excellence in research and fosters a supportive and thriving research environment.

Our aim is to provide information, support and skills development to Higher Degrees Research scholars, supervisors, early career researchers and future research leaders.

3 Minute Thesis

HDR Scholars are encouraged to enter the annual Trans Tasman Three Minute Thesis Competition.

Winners from Faculty heats compete to represent La Trobe University against other Australian and New Zealand universities.

Scholars enrolled in Higher Degrees (Research) will find information useful to the management of their research project, including news of upcoming seminars and events. This page also contains a link to information about the Three Minute Thesis competition.

Supervisors

The RED unit provides information for both new and experienced Supervisors that will offer support as well as opportunities for skill development and collaborative problem solving.

Early career

Early Career Researchers require particular assistance as they learn to balance the demands of work and research.

Researchers

A number of resources are available for current Experienced Productive Researchers including information about Ethics and Grant Applications. In particular, the RED unit will focus on providing opportunities for future research leaders to develop appropriate skills.
