Orientation at Sydney campus
Congratulations on your offer to study at our Sydney campus!
You are now part of the vibrant learning community at La Trobe University, right here in Sydney.
Enrolment at our Sydney campus takes place at orientation. It is very important that you attend your orientation day, which is detailed in the Confirmation of Acceptance email from the our Admissions Team. On orientation day, you will formally register for your course, choose your subjects, learn important information about studying with us, and meet your new classmates and friends.
How to enrol

Make sure you have accepted your offer
Ensure your place is confirmed at La Trobe by accepting your offer as soon as possible.
If you've received a conditional offer, you must provide the requested documentation to Admissions and we will then email your unconditional offer with instructions on how to accept. Alternatively, you may bring the required documents with you to orientation day.

Prepare for orientation day
Note the time and date of your orientation day and get to know more about your course and the subjects you will be undertaking via the University Handbook.
Ensure you have the following ready to bring on orientation day:
Domestic students:
- Your passport (proof of citizenship)
- Offer letter
- Tax File Number (for FEE/HECS HELP)
- Your La Trobe user name and password you created when you accepted your offer.
International students:
- Your passport
- Evidence of your student visa
- Offer letter
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
- Any outstanding documentation as advised by Admissions.

Come to campus for orientation
Semester 1, 2026 Orientation Date Time Foundation and Diploma students Tuesday 24 February 10am - 2pm Bachelor and Master students Wednesday 25 February 10am - 2pm Semester 2, 2026 Orientation Date Time Foundation and Diploma students Tuesday 23 June 2026 10am - 2pm Bachelor and Master students Wednesday 07 July 2026 10am - 2pm Semester 3, 2026 Orientation Date Time Foundation and Diploma students Week commencing 12 October 2026 TBC Bachelor and Master students Week commencing 26 October 2026 TBC Our Sydney campus is located opposite Hyde Park at 255 Elizabeth Street, and orientation activities will be on Level 1.
To make the most of orientation day and complete your enrolment in your course, you will need to bring with you:
Domestic students:
- Your passport/ proof of citizenship
- Offer letter
- Tax File Number.
International students:
- Your passport
- Evidence of your student visa
- Offer letter
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
- Any additional documentation as advised by Admissions.
Orientation day is not only about registering into your course, it’s also when you will meet your fellow classmates and be shown around your new campus. There will be light refreshments, gift bags and you will also meet our Student Ambassadors who will help answer any questions, and make you feel right at home.
During orientation, you will:
- Learn more about living in Sydney, transport, beach safety
- Understand your rights and responsibilities as students
- Select and enrol in your academic subjects
- Receive your timetable
- Get your student ID card - you need this for your studies and to take advantage of the student discounts available in Sydney
- Access the Student Portal and learn how to use our online systems for students
- Receive payment information if you are required to pay upfront.
