Orientation at Sydney campus

Congratulations on your offer to study at our Sydney Campus.

No matter what campus you have chosen to studies at, you are now part of the vibrant learning community at La Trobe University.

Enrolment at the Sydney Campus takes place at orientation. It is very important that you attend your orientation day, which is detailed in the Confirmation of Acceptance email from the our Admissions Team. On orientation day, you will formally register for your course, choose your subjects and learn important information about studying with us.

How to enrol

  • Make sure you have accepted your offer

    Ensure your place is confirmed at La Trobe by accepting your offer ASAP.

    If you've received a conditional offer, you must provide the requested documentation to Admissions and we will then email you your unconditional offer and instructions on how to accept. Alternatively, you may bring the documents on orientation day.

  • Prepare for orientation day

    Note the time and date of your orientation day and get to know more about your course and the subjects you will be undertaking via the University Handbook.

    Ensure you have the following ready to bring on orientation day:

    Domestic students:

    1. your passport (proof of citizenship)
    2. offer letter
    3. Tax File Number (for FEE/HECS HELP)
    4. your La Trobe user name and password you created when you accepted your offer.

    International students:

    1. your passport
    2. visa
    3. offer letter
    4. Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
    5. any outstanding documentation as advised by Admissions.
  • Come to campus for orientation

    Foundation and Diploma students Tuesday 27th February10am - 2pm
    Bachelor and Master students Wednesday 28th February10am - 2pm

    Our Sydney Campus is located opposite Hyde Park at 255 Elizabeth Street. Orientation will be on Level 1.

    To gain admittance to orientation day you will need:

    Domestic students:

    • your passport/ proof of citizenship
    • offer letter
    • Tax File Number.

    International students:

    • your passport
    • visa
    • offer letter
    • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
    • any additional documentation as advised by Admissions.

    Orientation day is not only about registering into your course, it’s also when you will meet your fellow classmates and be introduced to your new Campus. There will be light refreshments, gift bags and you will also meet your Student Representative Council.

    At orientation, you will:

    • select and enrol in your subjects
    • receive your timetable
    • get your student ID
    • gain access to the Student Portal and learn how to use our online systems for students
    • receive payment information if you are required to pay upfront.
