TAFE Study Support Bursary
Background
La Trobe University is offering bursaries of $5,000 to eligible students completing a TAFE Diploma or Advanced Diploma in 2026 at one of the following institutions:
Kangan Institute, Bendigo TAFE, Box Hill Institute, or Melbourne Polytechnic.
These bursaries are designed to support students who have experienced disadvantage during their TAFE studies and are planning to continue their education at La Trobe University in Semester 1, 2027.
Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be completing in 2026 a Diploma or Advanced Diploma at one of the following TAFE Institutions:
Kangan Institute, Bendigo TAFE, Melbourne Polytechnic OR Box Hill Institute. - Apply through VTAC OR apply DIRECT for entry into semester 1, 2027 into an eligible course. To check course-specific eligibility requirements, please refer to the Course Finder and review the entry requirements of your chosen course.
- Submit a VTAC Equity schemes and scholarship application. Applications are open from 3 August (9am). Be sure to include your VTAC ID in your application.
- Have experienced educational, personal, financial, medical or other disadvantage during your TAFE studies.
- Intend to accept your La Trobe offer and enrol for 2027.
Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
- Course offer into an eligible La Trobe course from an eligible TAFE institution.
- Submitted VTAC Equity schemes and scholarship application information.
