
Rotary Club of Bendigo South/Peter Ryall Rural Health Bursary
Background
The Rotary Club of Bendigo South wishes to support a student experiencing hardship who is beginning their tertiary education in Allied Health at the La Trobe Rural Health School, Bendigo Campus, in 2027.
This Bursary honours the memory of Bendigo engineer and Rotarian, Peter Ryall.
Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a domestic student
- Be commencing first year in a degree taught within the La Trobe Rural Health School at the Bendigo Campus in 2027
- Provide evidence of disadvantage within the VTAC Equity Schemes (SEAS) and Scholarship application form
Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
- Submission of the VTAC Equity Schemes (SEAS) and Scholarship application form, usually between August and October, 2026. Dates to be confirmed by VTAC.
- Provided evidence of educational disadvantage (including but not limited to financial hardship, caring responsibilities, non-English speaking background, disability or other hardship or disadvantage)
- Preference may be given to a student who has had to relocate from a rural or interstate location to Bendigo and who is maintaining a high academic performance.
Recipient obligations
The recipient may be required to attend joint promotional events or participate in promotional activities in keeping with the spirit of the Bursary. This includes, but is not limited, to attending the Bendigo Prize Ceremony, and also attending the Rotary Club of Bendigo South meeting to speak about the impact of their award.
