two payments of $3500 per semester, full time enrolment (pro rata payment for part time enrolment)

Background

While traditional scholarships focus mainly on high-achieving school leavers, the Regional Achievement Scholarship deliberately expands the reach to support commencing students that have spent time away from study (non-school leavers e.g. not completing Year 12 in 2025) and commencing postgraduate students who are undertaking study at one of our Regional campuses. 

Are you eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen.
  • Be a mature-age student (not completing Year 12 in 2025) returning to study after a study gap since year 12, or coming into higher education from TAFE/VET or previous university study and beginning a Post Graduate degree. 
  • have applied for a multimodal or face to face course via the 2025-2026 VTAC/UAC (or state Tertiary Admissions Centre) intake, or via a direct course application to La Trobe University. Please note: Online courses are not eligible for this scholarship. 
  • Commence study in 2026 and have met all the subject-specific prerequisites and received a course offer at one of La Trobe's regional campuses.

For Undergraduate entry: 

  • Students entering higher education from TAFE/VET pathways and/or complete or incomplete higher education study.

For Postgraduate entry:

  • High-performing graduates with a strong WAM/GPA record, who may be considering study in regional campuses.
  • Students with professional experience but requiring postgraduate qualifications.

Recipient obligations

  • Maintain face to face or hybrid enrolment at a regional campus.
  • Maintain a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65+. 

How to apply

There is no application process for this scholarship.

To be considered you must list a regional or multimodal course on your VTAC/UAC (or state Tertiary Admissions Centre) course preference list OR apply for a course direct through La Trobe University.

Offers will be made via email from late December onwards.

The Terms and Conditions of the scholarship will be clearly stated in the offer email.

*Please note: Scholarship places are not guaranteed, limited and subject to meeting ALL course requirements, and availability of places: some courses have limited places; offers for the Regional Achievements Scholarship may not be available in those instances.
