two payments of $3500 per semester, full time enrolment (pro rata payment for part time enrolment)

Background

The Regional Access Scholarship was created to remove barriers to higher education for students wishing to study in person or hybrid at one of our regional campuses. 

It reflects La Trobe’s commitment to widening participation, social equity, and supporting those from underrepresented groups.

Are you eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen.
  • Be a mature-age student (not finishing Year 12 in 2025) returning to study after a study gap since year 12,or coming into higher education from TAFE/VET or previous university study (complete or incomplete).
  • Have applied for a hybrid or in person course via the 2025-2026 VTAC/UAC (or state Tertiary Admissions Centre) intake, or via a direct course application to La Trobe University. Please note: Online courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Have met the entry requirements and received a course offer at one of La Trobe's regional campuses.
  • In addition, you should meet at least one of the following:

    • Come from a low socio-economic background (e.g. eligible for Centrelink support).
    • Be the first in your family to attend university.
    • Live with a disability or medical condition that affects your study.
    • Have significant caring responsibilities (such as for children, elderly family, or someone with a disability)

    Recipient obligations

    • Maintain in person or hybrid enrolment at a regional campus.
    • Maintain a weighted average mark (WAM) of 50+ (academic good standing).

    To be considered you must ALSO list a regional or hybrid course on your VTAC/UAC (or state Tertiary Admissions Centre) course preference list OR apply for a course direct through La Trobe University.

    Offers will be made via email from late December onwards.

    The Terms and Conditions of the scholarship will be clearly stated in the offer email.

    *Please note: Scholarship places are not guaranteed, limited and subject to meeting ALL course requirements, and availability of places: some courses have limited places; offers for the Regional Access Scholarship may not be available in those instances.
