La Trobe University Industry Masters by Research Scholarship - Australian Eggs
Background
Two Masters by Research scholarships are available from La Trobe University in partnership with Australian Eggs for a research project exploring the health benefits of egg consumption with particular focus on the microbiota-gut-brain axis. This research will use a randomised controlled trial to help us understand the effects of egg consumption on the gut microbiota, clinical outcomes and biomarkers in adults.
One scholarship is for a candidate with a strong nutrition background, and another scholarship is for a candidate with a strong microbiology background. Both candidates should have experience in conducting research including statistics, understanding for participant recruitment and clinical trials, and be able to work independently as well as in a team.

- a La Trobe Research Scholarship for 22 months, with a value of $28,854.00 per annum, to support your living costs (2022 rate)

Are you eligible to apply?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- meet the entrance requirements for the proposed course
- not be receiving another scholarship greater than 75 per cent of the stipend rate for the same purpose
In selecting successful applicants, we prioritise applications from candidates who:
•will be enrolled full-time and undertaking their research at a La Trobe University campus
•have completed a Bachelor in Nutrition or majoring in Microbiology and have completed a significant body of research, such as a final year research project, an honours research thesis or lead authorship of a peer-reviewed publication
•are an Australian and New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident

Selection process: The University will carefully review your application and consider you for this scholarship.
If you are shortlisted for the scholarship and candidature, you will be invited to an interview with representatives of La Trobe.
The final decision will be made based on your application and interview. The successful candidate will be made an offer for candidature and scholarship.
You will be advised of an outcome in December 2021.
