Are you eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a current or commencing La Trobe coursework student in Semester 1, 2024
• Identify as having a Muslim background
• Meet criteria for educational disadvantage (financial, non-English speaking background, disability or other hardship or disadvantage).
  

Please note:

To award the La Trobe Islamic Scholarship according to the intentions of the donor, we seek your consent to provide what is categorised as sensitive information (religious beliefs or affiliations) under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Information Privacy Principle 10 (IPP10). We will only use this information for the purposes of identifying your eligibility for the scholarship.

If you are a prospective student wishing to apply, please wait for your course offer and La Trobe student email before submitting an application.

Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:

• responses to the questions within the application form
• evidence of medical disadvantage through supplied documentation (if a medical disadvantage is experienced)

Recipient obligations

The successful recipients will be asked to supply a letter to the donor and will have the opportunity to meet with the donor at some point throughout their degree.
