MindCare Collective Program Advisory Group (PAG)
Dementia is the leading cause of death in Australia, and the number of Australians living with dementia is projected to exceed one million by 2065.
Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities are disproportionately impacted. In 2021, 44% of people living with dementia in the community were born outside Australia. In 2022, 23% of primary carers of people with dementia usually spoke a language other than English to the person they cared for.
The MindCare Collective comprises interconnected projects advancing dementia prevention and care through co-design, digital health innovation, and culturally responsive community-based interventions.
The Collective is guided by its Program Advisory Group (PAG), a cross-sector body including state-based ethnic community councils, academic and clinical experts, CALD community leaders, project partners, and consumer advocacy organisations. The PAG provides strategic advice, strengthens alignment with policy and practice, and ensures CALD perspectives are embedded across dementia risk reduction, health promotion and education initiatives.
