The portal gathers details about how each data asset was created. Different creation methods can reveal different types of insights for research.
SURVEY
Survey data collects information by asking people questions. These can be done online, by phone, on paper, or in person. Researchers use surveys to learn about people’s opinions, experiences, or behaviours.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Administrative data is collected as part of routine services or operations—it is often collected not for research, but for managing programs or services. It’s often gathered by governments, hospitals, schools, or other organisations.
CENSUS
Census data comes from a large-scale effort to count and collect information about everyone in a country or region. It usually happens at regular intervals (like every 5 or 10 years) and can cover things like age, gender, income, and housing.
