Indigenous employment strategy

La Trobe University is strongly committed to playing a leading role in 'Closing the Gap' in educational and employment outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

The La Trobe University – Closing the Gap, 35 in 5 Indigenous Employment Strategy 2010-2015 was officially launched by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Johnson on 29 September 2010 and commits the University to creating an additional 35 long term sustainable employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians. The endeavors to achieve the goal of an additional 35 jobs for Indigenous Australians will include creating pathways through fulltime, continuing, part-time, contractual, special project, and seasonal jobs.

Indigenous employment enquiries can be forwarded to the Indigenous Employment Coordinator (IEC). The IEC is responsible for the employment, retention and career development of Indigenous employees at La Trobe and can be contacted on 03 9479 3385 or Indigenous-Employment@latrobe.edu.au

Please register your Expression of Interest for consideration and notification for roles that may become available in the future. This expression of Interest will be held on file for a period of twelve (12) months and actively matched against any suitable position that may arise during that time.
