Department of Rural Health Sciences partnerships

The Department of Rural Health Sciences partners with a range of health and community organisations across regional and rural Victoria, and with the communities surrounding each of La Trobe’s campuses in Bendigo, Shepparton, Mildura and Albury-Wodonga.

A key focus of our partnerships is teaching the next generation of health professionals, with more than 13,000 student clinical placement weeks undertaken each year in regional and rural Australia.

We are also proud of our research, which is making a positive difference, every day, to Australian communities. Thanks to our partners, La Trobe offers a range of industry PhD opportunities. Our staff also contribute to community and health service boards, and other advisory groups.

Our partnerships ensure that we continue to make a vital contribution to rural health workforce development in Victoria and Australia.
