Professional background/experience
Raelene Wilding is a Professor of Sociology in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has served as Head of Department, Social Inquiry and Deputy Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Other roles at La Trobe University have included Theme Lead, Social Change and Equity and Deputy Director, Transforming Human Societies Research Focus Area. She conducts qualitative research on themes of care, migration, relationships and technology, with the aim of identifying and responding in innovative and collaborative ways to experiences of inequality. She is affiliated with the Care Economies Research Institute, Care Economies CRC, John Richards Centre and Climate Change Adaptation Lab. Wilding is also currently a member of the ARC College of Experts.
