Actions for Water II brings together interdisciplinary practioners from diverse geographies to explore water as both a vital ecology and a site of speculative possibilities. In response to escalating privatisation, pollution and degradation, artists reclaim water as a shared commons that is imbued with cultural memory, collective histories and communal stewardship. The works reflect sustained engagement with water’s many forms and meanings, tracing connections across geographies and knowledge systems.

As part of Action for Water II we are presenting a suite of free public programs that contribute to and expand upon the show. More information can be found at our events page.

Actions for water II is curated for La Trobe Art Institute by Sharmila Wood and Amelia Wallin. Founding Partner: Tin Sheds Gallery, University of Sydney.
