Infinity Leadership Program (ILP)
ILP provides an opportunity for students to utilise and develop their knowledge of leadership and to extend their skills and experiences by putting leadership into practice. The program invites community leaders to deliver presentations and seminars to our aspiring leaders at our Leadership Conference (held in February each year) and through our leadership seminars. This 12 month program also involves students working on a Leadership in Action project where leadership and teamwork skills are challenged and developed. If you have a project you would like to propose or sponsor; or you would like further information on how your organisation can become involved please email leadership@latrobe.edu.au.
Student Career Mentoring Program
The Student Career Mentoring program allows mentors to enrich the lives of La Trobe University students and recent graduates by sharing experiences and assisting in their career development. Our current career mentors come from a wide range of professional backgrounds and industries and are matched with a mentee who has similar career interests. By sharing your knowledge you are also accessing a range of mentor development activities for your own professional development.
La Trobe Award
Engaging our students in a volunteering activity can give you access to energetic, creative and well prepared individuals who are ready to make a difference to your organisation. Many of our students are keen to be involved in off campus volunteer activities for community welfare and other not for profit organisations. The La Trobe Award recognises the valuable contribution that these students make to their local communities. Combined with the volunteer hours that they perform, students are able to undertake high quality free training modules (such as Leadership, Motivating Others and Conflict Management), which help to enhance their employability skills.
Work Integrated Learning
Work Integrated Learning programs offer a range of approaches within a purposefully designed curriculum to enable students to integrate theory with practice in the work environment. If your organisation would like to participate in student placements via our Work Integrated Learning programs please contact the staff in the areas relevant to your organisations interests.
Work Placement Program
La Trobe students can make a difference to your organisation. They are enthusiastic, innovative and brimming with the latest ideas. They want to learn and are keen to contribute. The Work Placement Program provides an opportunity for you to experience their capabilities and for them to contribute to your organisation. Under this program you can host a student for up to 4 weeks. During this time students can contribute to an existing program or take on a small project.
