La Trobe’s online MBA ranked in top tier

La Trobe University has cemented its place as an Australian leader in online business education, ranking first in Victoria and third in Australia for its online MBA in the latest rankings from the UK-based CEO Magazine.

La Trobe’s MBA Program Director, Dr Geraldine Kennett said the ranking was a great endorsement for the University’s Online MBA, and significant given the increasing importance of studying online.

“Our Online MBA was already growing before the global pandemic,” Dr Kennett said.  “COVID-19 has meant that professionals working from home for long periods of time now have a greater understanding of the power of technology to foster interactive engagement with fellow students guided by an expert online educator.”

Dr Kennett said La Trobe’s Online MBA also enabled students to network in a collaborative environment with professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds both nationally and internationally.

“Busy managers don’t want to lose career momentum while completing their MBA.  They see an online qualification as a way to continue their leadership development and drive real change in their professional life.”

This willingness to embrace online learning was evident in 2020 when more than 12,500 people registered for La Trobe Business School’s fully online short course -  Leaders in Lockdown, Dr Kennett said.

This year CEO Magazine ranked data from 180 business schools in 27 countries, including 89 online programs.  La Trobe’s Online MBA was ranked 17th globally.
